About Changes

Substance Abuse Assessments/Evaluations

The first step in the admission process is meeting with a Licensed Counselor individually to discuss how the use of substances  can effect ones ability to meet needs.  This evaluation is used to determine if there is a potential substance use disorder and, then both the Counselor and you develop a treatment plan that outlines the most effective course of action to begin treatment

Treatment Options

Changes Counselling Services provides two levels of outpatient  substance abuse treatment. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and the Supportive Outpatient Program (SOP) most commonly known as a Aftercare Program. IOP and Aftercare Program course times  are available during the day, on weekends and weekday evenings. This allows provides you several options  to engage in the treatment  process without disrupting your employment and/or family stability.

Topics
Some of the topics to be covered in the treatment programs include:

  • Family dynamics and roles
  • Relationships
  • Emotional recognition and rehabilitation
  • Recognizing and decreasing self-defeating behaviors ·Thinking errors and chemical dependency associated with an illegal lifestyle ·Relapse triggers and recovery plans

Relapse Prevention:

This program is designed for clients who have had previous drug or alcohol treatment and are motivated to maintain their sobriety but feel that they would benefit from extra support.

This dramatically helps reduce relapse after going through addiction treatment when people are still adjusting to living a sober life back in their own environments.

Substance Abuse Education:

These educational lectures are extremely helpful to the client in deciding if they “fit” in with this population some call addicts and alcoholics.

It is also an important tool for the counselor, useful in breaking down denial. A lot of real progress happens because of these lectures.

Individual Counseling:

Clients meet one-on-one with a skilled clinician to explore issues co-existing with, and contributing to substance abuse.

Clients who have mental health concerns such as depression, anger anxiety, interpersonal Conflicts, and poor self esteem will be referred to outside therapists, to treat in conjunction with specific addictions.

A lot of times it is these underlying factors that add to the cause of substance abusing behavior.

Cost

Self pay clients will be charged on a sliding scale basis for the Intensive Outpatient Program, with a $50.00 non refundable intake charge. An affordable payment plan is also available.

Most insurance plans are accepted.

Aftercare

Aftercare will be offered for those graduating from the CCS outpatient program. Aftercare is also available to those who have graduated from other treatment programs, or otherwise referred for follow up.
